Alan Barbieri is currently the Head of Programmes at The Human Safety Net, Generali’s Foundation. He oversees a portfolio of 50+ programmes implemented in 23 countries and leads on the development of strategic partnerships.

A programme Portfolio Manager with about fifteen years’ experience designing and driving multiple social impact projects of €100m+, Alan has been focusing his efforts on entrepreneurship, startup support and early childhood development across NGOs and private sector.

With a long-lasting passion for social impact, Alan worked for non-profits and purpose-driven consulting firms in all geographies, setting up a Foundation in South Africa. In 2019, he finally landed at the The Human Safety Net, on what he defines ‘the most challenging and exciting position of my career’, which also brought him back to his native country, Italy.

Father of three boys, Alan loves spending time in nature with his family and exploring the beauties of northern Italian landscapes.

Mobilising corporate resources to contribute to the development of social organisations and the business activities of companies

Employee engagement is a great concept to address the capacity building and gaps in the business development of social enterprises and social organisations. It also provides business value for the companies. The speakers of this session will share the framework for employee engagement activities, and examples from companies that have introduced different initiatives to mobilise their corporate resources for the development of social enterprises or NGOs.
